Anyway, to cut a long story short, I am glad we spent two days in Canmore as we got to explore many of the areas surrounding it including Kananaskis Country.
We had found a few hikes in the Canmore area to complete including the Grassi Lakes hike which don’t get me wrong, was a lovely walk but really just plain compared to all the others we had done previously. The signposts were awesome though…
First of all, it started going up straight away. This is pretty much how all the hikes in the rockies start. Secondly, this was going to be our last hike whilst in Canada and I didn’t have high hopes for Ptarmigan being that great.
But once we reached the ridge it all came together. The sun was shining and it was incredibly peaceful just gazing at the mountain ranges around us. We were the only ones there except for this little guy…
Also, the surroundings were pretty incredible too, check out Phil’s pictures to see the landscape.
Have you ever come across a relatively unknown hike before and loved it?
Until next adventure,
Stayed: Ramada Inn (worth it for the waterslide alone)
Ate: Grizzly Paw Brewery
Coffeed: Starbucks (they did a little lunch pack for us too)
Adventured: We also went to the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary in Cochrane (which is close by).
