So I thought that for a change of pace, I would give my solutions to having some fun adventures when it is miserable outside – it can be done.
But first up, adventures only work if you are in the mood. Sounds saucy I know, but if you are actually feeling miserable and just want to stay inside with a warm tea and blankets, then do so. Believe me, there is nothing wrong with wanting to do that. Even when it’s a gorgeous day outside, sometimes you just need to rest and enjoy some down time.
Ok, now on to the fun stuff...
1. Ice Skating – Seriously who hasn’t wanted to try this? You may have got to experience it when you were a kid, but try it as an adult. It’s hilarious – mainly because you realise that your skills have not improved and it’s still quite hard. Take the challenge though! I managed to do a few laps of the rink only marginally holding on to the rail. If I can do it – so can you!
2. Escape Room – We only tried this for the first time last week and it was a blast. These activities are popping up in the big cities and are well worth a try. We went to Escape hunt in Melbourne and had one hour to ‘escape’ our room after solving a crime puzzle. It was harder than I thought, but still good fun with a group (if you can work together well).
4. Beer/Wine tasting or making - This is such a great backup option if you are out somewhere and the weather packs in. In fact, who cares if the weather packs in, try it anyway. We do! Many of our adventures include some form of ‘tasting; whether that be food, wine, beer etc. Normally you get to learn a bit more about the area whilst sampling the local ales. Also, you are supporting small business - win win(e)
What are your recommendations for wet weather based activities?
Until next adventure,
